Armor artifacts from the Patton Museum of Cavalry and Armor to be in Fort Benning

Press Release

FORT BENNING, Ga. – Armor artifacts from the Patton Museum of Cavalry and Armor, including tanks, big guns and other vehicles dating from World War I, will be transported here beginning Feb. 17 at 8:30 a.m.

The transfer of the historical pieces is in conjunction with the Armor School's upcoming relocation here this year.  More than 200 artifacts will be moved altogether in multiple shipments, which will occur through March 3, and will be stored until they can be displayed in a new location.

Soldiers from the 233rd Transportation Company, which has deployed to Iraq multiple times, will convey the artifacts to the storage facility.
