COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – News Leader 9 has confirmed the next court appearance for convicted murderer Carlton Gary has been scheduled for March 23rd at 11:00 a.m.
The motions hearing will determine whether Gary still wants to go forward with limited DNA testing, involving certain items in the custody of the Columbus Police Department.
The district attorney, Julia Slater, requesting that Gary be present for this hearing.
In February, Slater and attorneys Jack Martin and Michael McIntyre reached an agreement over DNA testing that would limit evidence collected from Jean Diemenstein, Martha Thurmond, and Kathleen Woodruff's murders.
The agreement, proposed by the Slater, was signed by Carlton Gary and his attorneys.
