COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – Columbus Police say they arrested a wanted man Thursday.

Around 1:15 p.m. 22-year-old Daniel Lee Pitts was arrested by the Fugitive and TACT Squads after police received tip that he was in an apartment at 3737 Cusseta Road.

He was arrested inside the bedroom of that apartment on the outstanding warrants and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, since a handgun was in his possession at the time of the arrest. 

Pitts faces the following charges:

  • Incident on Wade Street on 12/26/09 aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
  • Incident on Winston Road 2/09/10 armed robbery, aggravated assault, hijacking a motor vehicle, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime
  • Incident on Sheridan Avenue 2/11/10 armed robbery, aggravated assault
  • Charges at time of arrest 3/04/10 possession of a firearm by a convicted felon

He is scheduled to appear in Recorder's Court on Friday at 2:00 p.m.
