COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – Thursday Muscogee County's Board of Elections and Registrations vote 3 to 1 to pass the precinct changes.

At the moment, 48 voting locations exist, but the new plan is to consolidate to 28.

The Muscogee County School District asked the board to remove five schools from the precinct list because of security reasons.

A main concern among Columbus residents is the distance the new precincts from their old voting location.

News Leader 9 has a breakdown of that new distance. Click here to see the list.
