RUSSELL COUNTY, AL (WTVM) -  A local man has been indicted by a Russell County Grand Jury after police say he tried to kill his ex-girlfriend.

Twenty-nine-year-old Anthony Patton from Columbus faces attempted murder charges.

According to Phenix City investigators, Patton was arrested back in October after firing several shots into 21-year-old Jamicia Sanders' apartment on 28th Avenue in Phenix City.

Sanders tells officials she was asleep, heard gun shots and found her front window shattered where one of the bullets hit.

After the shooting, police say Patton continued to threaten and harass Sanders, his former girlfriend.

He is being held in the Russell County Jail.
