COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - It may technically still be winter, but it certainly didn't feel like it out there Sunday. Kids all over the valley were out and having some fun in the sun.

It seems lately people have been bundling up if they have to go outside, but heavy coats and warm boots were hard to find on this beautiful weekend.

One family said, "It's nice when it breaks like this so we can get out of the house."

News Leader Nine headed out to the packed playgrounds to see how people were enjoying the weather.

The response from several children included:

"I'm playing at the Lakebottom Park playground."

"We're going to ride our scooters and have fun and play at the park."

"I'm here to play with my cousin, my nephew and my sister."

"The slides, the swings, and just running around."

"We were playing on the swings and on the slides and on our scooters too."

"Just having a family day and enjoying the weather and enjoying the park."

We let the kids pretend to be methodologists and tell us what the weather was like Sunday.  They said:

"I'd say it's warm. It feels like summer."

"It's cold and windy out here."

"Sunny and partly cloudy."

"I think it's pretty good outside today. It's nice, better than any other day this week."

So before another wave of cold heads through, find a way to get out and have some fun in the sun.
