AL bank robbery suspect arrested in Columbus, GA

AUBURN, AL (WTVM) –  Auburn Police say they have the man they believed robbed an Auburn Bank.

Last week, 32-year-old Shawn Smith was arrested by Columbus Police and charged with robbery in the 1st degree.

Investigators say on February 22nd, a man fitting Smith's description, robbed the BankTrust Branch located on North Dean Road in Auburn, AL

Smith was extradited from Columbus, GA  and is currently being held at the Lee County Detention Center in Alabama.

    The father of two told police in court papers released Monday that he killed his pregnant wife after witnessing her strangling one of the girls on a baby monitor.
