Columbus Man Pleads Guilty to Fat Trees Murder

COLUMBUS, GA (WXTX) -   Thirty-seven-year-old Samuel Donaldson, a Columbus man accused of murder, pled guilty in court Monday morning.

Detectives say Donaldson shot 34-year-old Eric Mays after a fight at the Fat Trees Club on Schatulga Road in December of 2008.

Donaldson was sentenced to 20 years in prison with 12 years to serve for one count of manslaughter.

A co-defendant, 37-year-old Antoine Myricks, pled guilty to one count of hindering the apprehension of a criminal.

Police say Myricks gave Donaldson a ride following the shooting. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison with two to serve.
