Family awakened by gunmen; suspects on the loose

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Columbus Police are investigating a Tuesday morning invasion on Morehouse Street -- near Illges and Rigdon Road.

The family of five was awakened around 2:30 a.m. after two armed men forced their way into the back door of the home.

"All I know is the backdoor was open and I woke up with guns in our face," says Tameika Daniells.

The gunmen took a 42 inch flat screen TV, an XBOX 360 along with the games, cell phones and a Chevy Impala. The car was later recovered unoccupied on Joy Road. 

No one was injured and no arrests have been made.


"One of them had on a head scarf and I was scared.  I didn't know what to do," says Daniells. 

The suspects are described as 2 black males in their teens 5'6" and 5'9"tall, slim build, wearing blue jeans and black coat and a blue coat.
