Paint can explodes, burning Valley woman

VALLEY, AL (WTVM) – A Valley woman has been airlifted to Columbus Medical Center after suffering serious burns in an afternoon explosion.

Witnesses say 39-year old Peggy Hurst was burning household trash in her backyard Tuesday when she threw an aerosol paint can into the flames.

The paint can exploded, severely burning the woman's face, arms and hands.

The explosion happened at the 2100th block of County Road 500. Hurst's condition is unknown at this time.
