Harris County, GA (WTVM) - Efforts across county lines land three accused serial burglars in jail.

Between Harris and Muscogee Counties, almost forty burglary cases will be closed.

The burglars were caught on surveillance video throughout the counties.  Pictures and vehicle descriptions were made by The Harris County Sheriff's Office.  An alert on this car was given to several surrounding counties.  A few days later, the car was spotted in Columbus.

Harris County Investigator Ryan Williamson commended the Columbus Police Department, "Great job by Columbus Police Department to find the vehicle and capture the suspects in the vehicle after a short chase. So, our hats are really off to Columbus Police Department and their detectives.

Columbus officers arrested Desmond Cobb, Mario Wimberly, and a 16-year-old.

Through interviews with these suspects, nineteen burglary cases in Columbus have been closed.

And, Investigators in Harris County expect to close more than twenty cases.

"It is a huge deal to get these guys off the street and give our citizens some peace of mind that when they are victims of crime that the crime is solved," says Williamson.

And, deputies were able to recover some of the stolen items.

So far, 5 pieces of jewelry turned up in a Columbus pawn shop, while another person now has their flat screen TV back.

The three suspects can now also be charged with theft by deception for taking the stolen items to a pawn shop.

Harris County Investigators are still on alert. "It is an ongoing investigation. We feel there are still more suspects or people that have been involved in these burglaries.  We are actively pursuing them at this time," Williamson tells News Leader Nine.

Cobb and Wimberly are being held in the Muscogee County Jail.  The juvenile is in the Youth Detention Center.  All face burglary charges in Harris County and "a laundry list of felony charges in Muscogee County," says Williamson.
