GA teen stands trial for murder

CUSSETA, GA (WTVM) -  A teen is facing murder charges in Chattahoochee County, GA.

Jury selection got underway this afternoon in Superior Court in the trial of Quentin Sawyer.

The 18-year-old is charged with felony murder, aggravated assault, weapons violations and making false statements.

Police say Sawyer shot 19-year-old Demarcus Lukes in the head back in January of 2009.

Openings statements and the presentation of evidence will start Tuesday morning.

Sawyer is out of jail on bond.
