PHENIX CITY, AL (WTVM) - One local school didn't let it rain on their parade.
Saint Patrick's School in Phenix City held their 10th annual St. Patrick's Day parade down Broad Street -- escorted by the Central High School band.
The school recently burned down, but that didn't stop students and teachers from coming together to celebrate.
Father Tom Weise told News Leader Nine, "There's a reason for everything. We're not celebrating the fact that the school burned down -- it was a loss, the insurance company tells us it will be torn down -- but what we're celebrating is that we're getting a brand new school. The other one was 45 years old."
After the parade, school members cooked lunch for the 65 Habitat for Humanity builder in the area this week.
