COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The streets of downtown Columbus were crowded until the wee hours Thursday morning. Columbus police and rescue squads responded to various calls throughout the night and News Leader 9 cameras were there to capture the good, the bad and the ugly.

Saint Patrick's Day brought the grand re-opening of the tap downtown after nearly three weeks of complete refurbishing and remodeling.

Bar manager, Larry Kirkland says the turnout downtown was the best he's seen in a while.

Police were everywhere last night, but couldn't stop a select few from club fights and they even responded to one call of an intoxicated and unconscious bar-hopper.

Fire and rescue even had a fire alarm call at a law firm on Broadway that ended up being a false alarm.
