COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – A Columbus man is behind bars after police say he tried to rob two businesses back-to-back.
Forty-seven-year-old William Bailey faces burglary and criminal attempted armed robbery charges.
Around 4:45 Friday morning, police say Bailey tried to rob a Circle K on Victory Drive -- allegedly making threats inside the store.
Then, at 4:55 officers say Bailey burglarized a retail store on North Lumpkin Road called Servicios Hispanos Columbus SHC Inc.
Reports indicate he shattered the front glass door and stole 40 rings, 14 bracelets and 8 pairs of earrings.
Bailey was arrested at the scene.
