Auburn, AL (WXTX)--Drivers on North Donahue are about to be turned around for nearly a year during a massive 3.8 million dollar bridge widening and resurfacing project.
The city of Auburn and Lee County agreed to hire D&J Engerprises to build a new, wider bridge across Saugahatchee Creek and resurface and widen a part of North Donahue Drive.
Work begins Wednesday and so do the traffic detours around the closed off section of road.
Southbound traffic on North Donahue Drive should detour using Farmville Road, North College Street and Shug Jordan Parkway.
Northbound traffic should detour using Shug Jordan Parkway, North College Street and Farmville Road.
Yarbrough Elementary will be accessible when approaching from the south.
Camden Ridge subdivision will be accessible from the north.
