COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – A man charged with kidnapping and rape was indicted by a Muscogee County grand jury.

Officials tells us Rodrecuz Boyd faces kidnapping, armed robbery and rape charges.

In January of 2008, officials in the Sex Crimes Division say a victim was walking on Oates Avenue, near the intersection of River Road and Manchester Expressway when a car stopped and she went over to it.

Police say at gunpoint, the woman was told to get in and driven to a church parking lot on Saint Mary's Road where she was allegedly raped.

After the sexual assault, police say the victim was robbed of $20 and dropped off on a nearby street, where she flagged someone down for help.

According to investigators, a rape kit done on the victim indentified a possible suspect using DNA and the victim identified that same man in a line-up as Boyd.

He was arrested in October of 2009 on outstanding warrants.
