Title I Grand Slam takes place Saturday

Press Release

COLUMBUS, GA - Each year the MCSD Title I Department sponsors the educational event that is open to families of students in grades K-8.

Grand Slam serves two purposes:

(1) To demonstrate to parents and children that learning together can be entertaining and exciting.

(2) To encourage parents to become partners in their child's education.

Grand Slam consists of a variety of fun, engaging activities on the key Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests (CRCT) areas of reading and math. Students must bring a parent or caring adult to accompany them at all times.

The Muscogee County School District (MCSD) encourages parents to be actively involved in their child's education and learning experiences.

Saturday, March 27, 2010, the 15th Annual Title I Grand Slam, "A Parent and Child Together Event" will be held at Brewer Elementary School, located at 2951 MLK Blvd. in Columbus from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The first 200 families to register onsite will receive a free gift.
