PHENIX CITY, AL (WTVM) - Phenix City Council members announced streets throughout the city will be getting safer.

In February the Lee-Russell Council of Government applied for a $50,000 grant to synchronize traffic lights and Tuesday it was awarded and signed in as a resolution.

Twenty traffic lights throughout Phenix City will be changed during the project.
