Montgomery Zoo announces Zoo Weekend

MONTGOMERY, AL -  Montgomery Zoo is pleased to announce that Zoo Weekend 2010 will be April 24th & 25th

Zoo Weekend will run from 9:00 am until 6:00 pm both days.  No matter the age, Zoo Weekend truly offers something for everyone, providing families with the opportunity to spend quality time together at one of the best recreational facilities in the River Region.

Zoo Weekend proceeds are used for capital improvements and future expansions to the Zoo.

Zoo Weekend provides entertainment that includes local and regional acts; Ronald McDonald will perform a magic show at 2:00pm both days.  An animal extraordinaire, Brian Staples, will perform exotic animal shows daily for everyone's enjoyment.  Bands will be performing throughout the two-day event.  Bands already secured are Tempting Fate, Failed Escape, Steel Fading, and DJ at Large.

Zoo Weekend is full of activities that include camel and pony rides, a petting zoo, inflatables and games to play. Prizes will be given at all the games including monkey toss and basketball to name a few. 

The Montgomery Zoo's Education Department will present live animal presentations both days.  Additional entertainment includes dance groups, U.S. Yoshikai Karate, Kuk Sool-Won Martial Arts, MPD K-9 Unit and much more.

Annual zoo and museum membership passes will be available for sale during Zoo Weekend at a discount and will become effective immediately, offering your family the chance to save money while enjoying this special event.
