COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -  WTVM told you about a Columbus bridge that has drivers asking lots of questions when it comes to safety.

Now, DOT officials say the Brown Avenue bridge is coming down.

A member of the DOT Board informed the Columbus mayor and council Tuesday the bridge will be replaced as soon as possible.

City engineers have limited the weight of cars driving over the bridge as they monitor its condition.

DOT officials say it's still safe for drivers to use but since fire trucks and other heavy vehicles can not pass over it, they are replacing it.
