HARRIS COUNTY, GA (WTVM) - After a week on the run, the Harris County Sheriff's Department has books a suspect from, of all places, Harris County, Texas.

Christopher Fleming thought he was getting away from deputies in Harris County, TX.  That is until he drove through Harris County, GA and was pulled over on a routine traffic stop for an improper tag.

"Officers discovered that there were several computers in the car. He became very suspicious because of the responses given by the driver there was also an odor of marijuana," explained Harris County, GA Investigator Glenn Presley.

Serial numbers on the computers linked Fleming to several business burglaries in Texas.  The break-ins topped the news on our ABC affiliate in Houston last week.

Harris County, Georgia Sheriff Mike Jolley believes Fleming was headed to Atlanta to sell the computers and the information on them.  "Names, records, and social security numbers of hundreds of people out in Harris County, TX," said Jolley.

20 year-old Fleming now sits in jail, charged with theft by receiving in Georgia.  Sheriff Jolley does not think any personal information was compromised.

The irony of the case has local deputies laughing.  "We thought it was kind of funny that Harris County, TX had a theft of computers and identity, and it was solved by Harris County, GA," said Jolley.

Presley said working with other agencies is all part of the job, "We kind of have a kindred spirit with them because they have the same county name. But, we always enjoy working with counties and other agencies.  We feel like that's the best way to solve crime and stop crime."

There were two men in the surveillance video.  The other one is still on the loose.  Sheriff Jolley believes the second suspect is still in Texas.
