Phenix City hospital to expand

PHENIX CITY, AL – Regional Rehabilitation Hospital of Phenix City announced Thursday a bed expansion project to increase the hospital's capacity to 48 beds from 38 beds. 

Approval for the increase recently was granted by the Alabama Certificate of Need Board. The hospital recently began the groundwork to add the extra beds  and expects to be able to accommodate 48 patients by Aug. 31, 2010.

"The addition of these ten beds will allow us to provide quality acute rehabilitation services to more patients in ten counties in East Central Alabama and West Central Georgia," said Jill Jordan, Chief Executive Officer of Regional Rehabilitation Hospital of Phenix City.
Regional Rehabilitation Hospital of Phenix City is a now a 48-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital that provides a higher level of rehabilitative care to patients who are recovering from stroke and other neurological disorders, brain and spinal cord injury, amputations, orthopedic, cardiac and pulmonary conditions.
