Columbus police search for two men, make drug arrest

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A series of events took place early Friday morning in Columbus. 

Drug Arrest
Columbus Police arrested 23-year-old Joshua Scarborough in the parking lot of the Columbus Inn, formerly the Days Inn on Victory Drive and Airview Drive. 

It happened around 3:00 Friday morning.

Lieutenant Warren Dunlap says police found marijuana in the Scarborough's pocket and later discovered 28 grams of crystal methamphetamine in his possession.

He was arrested and is being held in the Muscogee County Jail. He's charged with possession with intent to distribute, according to Dunlap. 

Circle K Armed Robbery
Two suspects were spotted running from the Circle K at Fort Benning and Torch Hill Roads at 2:00 a.m. after reportedly holding up the clerk at gunpoint.

Columbus police say they chased the men, but the suspects managed to get away. Police did not have a description of the men other than the suspects are two black males.

No was hurt in the incident and no information was released on what was taken from the store.
