COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A 17 year old boy was shot outside an organized party early Sunday morning.

Columbus Police tell News Leader Nine the National Guard Armory building, located on Victory Drive, was being rented for a party Saturday night when they received a call of shots fired in the area.

When they arrived a little after 12:30 a.m. they spoke with the young victim who told them he was outside and heard several shots fired, and was hit in the head with one of the bullets.

The 17 year old was treated and released from the Medical Center for his injuries. There were no other injuries reported at the scene.

Columbus Police have no suspect in this case and it remains under investigation. If you have any information you are asked to call (706)653-3400.
