Two men arrested for breaking into cars

AUBURN, AL  (WTVM) –  The Auburn Police Department tells News Leader 9 it has arrested two people for allegedly breaking into vehicles over the weekend.

Police received a tip there were two men breaking into vehicles in the 500 block of Webster Road.

When officers arrived they stopped a suspicious car with six people inside – including 20-year-old Gerald Harmon and 18-year-old Sidney Harmon.

Both were charged with two counts of breaking and entering and two counts of theft in the second degree.

The men are from Valley, Alabama.

Four juveniles, all 17 years of age,  were also taken into custody, but later released to their parents. We're told charges are pending.

Both Gerald and Sidney are currently being held at the Lee County Detention Center awaiting bond.
