Columbus hosts "Georgia Cities Week"

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – Columbus Consolidated Government is celebrating "Georgia Cities Week".

The theme is "Energy to Transform" -- drawing attention to the positive influence cities have on the quality of life and historic preservation.

Some of this week's activities include:

Distributing an activity booklet to Columbus children
Tours at city government facilities for high school students
Trivia questions on WTVM (News Leader 9 Morning)
Scavenger hunt - prizes included
 "If I Were Mayor, I Would" essay contest
National Crime Victims Rights- Open house

    The father of two told police in court papers released Monday that he killed his pregnant wife after witnessing her strangling one of the girls on a baby monitor.
