ATLANTA (GA) – The Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS) is holding its eighth stimulus workshop on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at the Savannah Civic Center in Savannah, Georgia. The public is invited to attend and learn how to obtain access to federal stimulus funds.
Attendees will learn about stimulus fund opportunities, as well as the criteria for applying and qualifying for funds. Opportunities include assistance for child care expenses; job support training and employment opportunities for non-custodial parents; grants for child care providers; and subsidized employment programs. The workshop will also include an opportunity to apply for stimulus funds and various DHS services.
The workshop is the result of a partnership between DHS and the Chatham-Savannah Youth Futures Authority. The event will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Savannah Civic Center located at 301 West Oglethorpe Avenue, Savannah, Georgia 31401.
