Scott Ressmeyer, co-owner of Country's Barbecue launched the initial cross-country event in 2009 as Scott's Ride for Miracles to commemorate his 50th birthday.
His philanthropic heart and long-time support of Children's Miracle Network at The Medical Center prompted him to transform the occasion into a fund-raising ride that would benefit the children who are receiving care at The Medical Center.
The first year, he set a goal of raising $35,000 to purchase a new GE Omni Giraffe Bed for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and he exceeded his goal by raising more than $51,000!
In 2011, Scott was joined by 13 other Miracle Riders, and they raised over $140,000!
Ultimately, Scott has set a goal to raise $1 million for Children's Miracle Network at The Medical Center throughout the history of this ride.
