Defense Attorney Named in '92 Burns Murder Case

COLUMBUS, GA (WXTX) - Fox 54 has learned the man accused of killing a Muscogee County School Chief in October of 1992 has chosen Columbus attorney, Stacey Jackson, to represent him.

Kareem Lane was arrested Monday by a SWAT team at his home in Pell City, Alabama. He is currently being held by authorities in Columbus, GA.  
 
Investigators say new DNA technology made it possible for them to link Lane to the stabbing death of Muscogee County Superintendent, Dr. James Burns, 50.

Lane is expected to appear in court Friday morning.
