COLULMBUS, GA - Join Columbus State University's Oxbow Meadows Environmental Learning Center, Fort Benning and the National Infantry Museum 12:30 p.m. Friday, May 7 for a free raptor show involving the Southeastern Raptor Center of Auburn University.
Attendees will see birds of prey up close, learn from expert raptor handlers,and witness flight demonstrations.
The event will take place on Soldier Field at the National Infantry Museum. About 1,000 children from Fort Benning schools also are expected to attend.
On Saturday, May 8 at 10 a.m., Oxbow Meadows will co-sponsor a raptor release with the Southeastern Raptor Center.
Elizabeth Crandall of the raptor center will present a short program with live birds, discuss the rehabilitation process and release a raptor. The release will take place on the grounds at Oxbow Meadows.
