TIC CEO receives Lifetime Achievement Award

COLUMBUS, GA – TIC Federal Credit Union President and CEO Janet Davis received the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award from the Georgia Credit Union Affiliates at their annual convention on May 7.  Davis, 51, is the youngest recipient in the history of the award.

"I am truly humbled by this honor," said Davis, who became CEO in 1991.  "To be recognized by my peers for something that I feel so passionate about is very special to me. I am fortunate to work in a movement where 'people helping people' is more than just a slogan. It's a way of doing business."

Davis has served as President and CEO for 18 years. Under her leadership the credit union has undergone extensive growth, with assets increasing $152 million during her tenure. She has led a complete re-engineering of the credit union during the last several years, transforming TIC's branches into innovative dialogue banking centers focused on experience and service. TIC is currently the ninth largest credit union in Georgia.
Davis holds several board positions at the national and state levels and is heavily involved in the local community.  Her highly decorated career includes receiving the Professional of the Year award for the entire country from the National Association of Federal Credit Unions in 1998 and the Moses C. Davis Professional of the Year honor from GCUA, also in 1998.
The Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to one individual whose credit union career stands as an example for others to follow. It honors a credit union leader whose accomplishments exemplify extraordinary leadership and commitment. Because the award is not given annually, when a recipient is selected, the honor is all the more revered.
