COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Next week is Bike-to-Work Week, but John Teeples, owner of John Teeples Construction, is taking the challenge a little further.

Teeples spent Thursday running to all of his jobsites.  He left his office in Fortson, GA at 5:30 a.m. going to Ellerslie on Hwy 315.  He left Ellerslie at 9:15 running to downtown Columbus to 1st Avenue.  He ended up at the CrossPointe Church jobsite for a meeting around 3 p.m.

He ran 50 miles in the 80 degree heat to prepare for the Run for the Heroes on Memorial Day weekend.  The run begins in Columbus and ends in Savannah, a 260 mile trek.

The run benefits the House of Heroes, a charitable organization that provides assistant to our Veterans and their spouses by making repairs, improvements and maintenance to their homes at no charge to them.
