COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Two women are facing charges after a prostitution bust at a Columbus hotel.
Police say a web site similar to Craigslist led them to 26-year-old Dyana Venable and 18-year-old Alyssa Cochran.
Officers say they have been receiving complaints about prostitution activity at local hotels so they set up a sting at the Days Inn on Macon Road Saturday night.
According to police, the women agreed to meet two men (undercover officers) for both oral and straight sex at a charge of $150 per hour for each.
When the officers got to the hotel room, they say conversation with the women quickly turned sexual and they pulled out their police badges and arrested the duo.
Venable and Cochran are facing misdemeanor charges of prostitution and possession of marijuana since officers say they found a small amount of the drug in the hotel room.
In court Monday, Cochran pled not guilty to her charges. Venable did not appear.
Alyssa Cochran's case now moves to State Court.
A public defender waived her preliminary hearing.
Jail officials confirm the other suspect, Dyana Venable, is currently a patient at the Medical Center. Authorities cannot confirm her condition due to privacy laws.
Her preliminary hearing has been continued indefinitely.
