Workshop will show public how to obtain stimulus funds

ATLANTA (GA) – The Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS) is holding its final stimulus workshop on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at the Bibb County DFCS Office in Macon, Georgia. The public is invited to attend and learn how to obtain access to federal stimulus funds.

            Attendees will learn about stimulus fund opportunities, as well as the criteria for applying and qualifying for funds. Opportunities include assistance for child care expenses; job support training and employment opportunities for non-custodial parents; grants for child care providers; and subsidized employment programs. The workshop will also include an opportunity to apply for stimulus funds and various DHS services.

            The workshop is the result of a partnership between DHS and the Bibb County community. The event will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Bibb County DFCS located at 456 Oglethorpe Street, Macon, Georgia 31201.
