AUBURN, AL - On Sunday, May, 16, 2010 at approximately 3:28 p.m. Auburn Police responded to a residence in the 1600 block of Lee Road 12 in Auburn to execute a felony arrest warrant for a probation violation on Sylvester Deshone Turk, 28 of Tuskegee, Alabama.

Officers contacted Turk at the residence and attempted to place him under arrest in obedience to the warrant.

He physically resisted the officers attempting to place him under arrest and a brief altercation ensued.

He was eventually taken into custody by officers and charged with the original offense of the probation violation and an additional charge of resisting arrest.

Another occupant of the residence, Deardre Marcel Rush, 28 of Auburn, was charged with assault second degree (against a law enforcement officer).

He was charged and taken into custody by police after he interfered with officers affecting the arrest on Turk. He verbally order or instructed a pit bull dog to become aggressive and bite the arresting officer on the leg while Turk was being taken into custody.

Both Turk and Rush were transported to the Lee County Jail without incident and the officer was not seriously injured. The pit bull was also taken by a Lee County animal control officer and will be evaluated.
