Burglars loot Columbus cemetery

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Columbus Police are investigating three burglaries that occurred recently in Columbus.

First, more than $1,000 worth of equipment was stolen when burglars looted the Porterdale East Cemetery on 11th Avenue.

When workers showed up for work Monday, they realized four weedeaters and three blowers had been taken from the storage building on site.

Officers investigated and found the suspects used bolt cutters to cut through a cable that locked the building.

Next, Columbus Police were dispatched to the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer building on 12th Street after a worker called 911.

Upon arrival, it was noted that someone had stolen approximately $40 worth of cleaning supplies. Four bottles of bleach and four packs of paper towels were taken.

Finally, at Club Tabu on Midtown Drive, officers report approximately $1,000 worth of damage was done to the building when it was broken into. Suspects stole two Toshiba flat screen TV's, valued at $800 a piece.

No arrests have been made in the burglaries.
