Valley celebrates 30 year anniversary!

VALLEY, AL (WTVM) - Happy birthday Valley! 30 years ago today, the city of Valley was founded. The historic mill and river town will celebrate by hosting its 3rd Annual Valley Day on the River,  Saturday, May 22 at the Historic Shawmut Airport. City leaders say this event has been a huge success the past 2 years with crowds of up to 9,000 people. They are expecting an even bigger turnout this year.

The event starts at 12:00 noon EST and will have a BBQ cook off, entertainment for children, craft booths, bingo, Horseshoe Contest, Fishing Tournament, Paint Ball Shoot, Kayak Obstacle Course, and music.

According to the cities website, music entertainment will provided by Strokin Dixie, Jesse & The Stampede Band, and Razzy Bailey In addition, there will be a Peanut Circus Show. A great day will end with a great concert at 7PM EDT featuring Houston County, Matt Kennon, and Lo Cash Cowboys.
