LaGrange brothers killed in deadly collision

TROUP COUNTY, GA (WTVM) - Two LaGrange brothers have passed away after a deadly crash.

According to the Troup County Coroner Jeff Cook, they were traveling on Hammett Road when for some reason, their car left the road and struck a telephone pole.

The driver, 20-year-old Christopher Truitt, was pronounced dead on the scene at 12:40 from trauma to the chest.

The passenger, 17-year-old Quadrez Truitt, was pronounced dead at the West Georgia Medical Center at 12:43 from trauma to the chest and abdomen.

Another passenger, Scottie Hicks, is being treated at the West Georgia Medical Center for what Cook says are non life threatening injuries.

The coroner says autopsies on the brothers will not be conducted.

Members of the Georgia State Patrol say the accident happened where Hammett Road intersects with Tin Bridge Road.
