COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A former Aflac employee will spend two years in prison for scamming the insurance company out of more than $200,000.
Wanda Fasig was sentenced to 24 months and three years of supervised release Thursday for insurance fraud.
It's a crime she pled guilty to earlier this year.
In Fasig's indictment, it states she worked as an independent insurance agent for Aflac and between May of 2005 and April of 2006, generated approximately 879 fraudulent applications.
Court documents indicate she wrongfully received in excess of $200,000 in advanced commissions from the company.
Aflac cites a total loss of $280,000 in the scam- which Fasig is ordered to pay in restitution.
