COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - "What catches your eye is the idea of clean air."

However, Better Business Bureau President Leonard Crain says Pure Kleen, the company making that promise, has a far from spotless record.

"Our concern is that they may be running advertising in area newspapers or in money mailers or direct mail and the pricing is too good to be true," Crain says.

Crain says workers from Pure Kleen offer to clean your air ducts and get rid of mold.

"We have had some reports in the other areas of the price going somewhere close to $5,000 for the service," adds Crain.

Crain says the service shouldn't be that expensive.

Pure Kleen has an "F" with the BBB.

Crain says the company has been in Huntsville, Alabama and throughout parts of Georgia and the Southeast.

"We earlier had some information about down in Cairo, Georgia, they went to Chattanooga, Tennessee and up in Virginia."

Now, BBB officials are worried Pure Kleen could be doing dirt in Columbus.

"So we want area residents to know if you're told that you have a mold problem, stop right there and get a second opinion."

Earlier this year, a judge awarded a Decatur, Alabama man $50,000 in a lawsuit he filed against Pure Kleen.

The company's owner, apparently didn't even show up for the court date.

The lawsuit alleged Pure Kleen violated Alabama's Deceptive Trade Practice Act.
