GDOT: State roads 90 and 36 are closed for repairs

TALBOT COUNTY, GA  -  Rail line work by CSX will necessitate closing SR 90 in Talbotton at Clark Street. Motorists traveling northbound on SR 90 will be detoured to SR 96 then north on US 80/SR 22 into Talbotton. Southbound motorists will utilize the same route in reverse. 

Also rail line work by CSX will necessitate closing SR 36 in Woodland between SR 41/Manchester Highway and 6th Avenue. Motorists traveling westbound on SR 36 will be detoured to 6th Avenue, then 2nd Street, to SR 41/Manchester Highway. Eastbound motorists will utilize the same route in reverse.

WHEN:    9 a.m., Wednesday, June 2, until 7 p.m., Thursday, June 3
WHERE:  SR 90, both directions, and SR 36, both directions, at their intersections with the CSX rail line


Signed detour routes will be in place.  Motorists are advised to anticipate delays and to avoid travel on SR 90, if possible.

Motorists are advised to reduce speeds as they travel through this work zone. Message signs, barrels and cones will be utilized to alert the public of the upcoming changes. Drivers should be aware that personnel and equipment will be operating in close proximity to travel lanes.
