Free teacher workshops at Flint RiverQuarium

ALBANY, GA - Creatures of the Flint FREE Teacher Workshops are being offered this summer in the Wet Lab of the Flint RiverQuarium for Kindergarten through 5th grade science teachers.
Teachers can attend one two-day workshop and earn 1 PLU.

In the workshops teachers will learn content behind the Georgia Performance Standards focusing on sorting living and non-living materials, comparing similarities and differences, needs of life, life cycles, habitat changes, adaptations and classification of creatures that inhabit the Flint RiverQuarium and much of Georgia.

They will learn how to create and deliver lesson plans with fish, frogs and turtles in mind and how to incorporate these Creatures of the Flint as well as an Imagination Theater movie screening into their own lesson plans utilizing the provided activities.

3rd-5th grade teacher workshop
Thursday, June 3, 9 am – 4 pm
Friday, June 4, 9 am – 1 pm
Standards covered: S3L1, S4L2, S5L1

Kindergarten – 2nd grade teacher workshop
Thursday, July 8, 9 am – 4 pm
Friday, July 9, 9 am – 1 pm
Standards covered: SKL1, SKL2, S1L1, S2L1
