$9,000 in copper stolen from Columbus plant

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – The Columbus Police Department are on the hunt for copper thieves.

Investigators tell News Leader 9, sometime over the weekend, someone cut the lock to the outer gate at Southeastern Forge on Old Cusseta Road.

About $9,000 worth of copper wire was stolen from the manufacturing plant.

The case remains under investigation.
