Auburn murder suspect turns self in

AUBURN, AL  (WTVM) -  The Auburn Police Department tells News Leader 9 a man wanted for murder has turned himself in.

Carl Edward Vinson, Jr., age 20, of Auburn is accused of killing an Opelika man.

Investigators say on Thursday, June 3, 2010 at 1:34 p.m. police responded to a "shots fired" call in the 600 block of Bedell Avenue. 

Officers found Daniel W. Hall, age 20, on the side of the road suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

He was transported by ambulance to East Alabama Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 3:57 p.m. 

Chief Tommy Dawson tells News Leader 9, investigators do have a possible motive for the shooting.

At this point in the investigation, however, he is not ready to release that information.
