Columbus Police search for armed robbery suspect

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A lone gunman held up a clerk at the BP gas station on Warm Springs Road around 11:15 Sunday night. 

Columbus police say the man walked in with an object sticking out of his shirt.  He reportedly told the clerk that he had a gun.  He demanded money. The clerk handed the man an undetermined amount of cash. 

Two other customers were in the store at the time of the robbery.  No one was injured. 

The man is described as a black male, between 30 to 40 years old, about 5'5'' to 5'7'' tall. Lieutenant Hastings says he was wearing a blue shirt and blue pants.

    The Mississippi Highway Patrol is looking for a driver who ran away from the scene of a deadly crash in George County. Three children were killed in the crash. Troopers said a green 2003 Kia Optima was heading east on Highway 198, east of Depot Road, shortly before 4 p.m. on Saturday.
