LAS VEGAS, NV (WTVM) - The doctor at the center of a 2007-2008 Hepatitis C outbreak has pleaded innocent to several criminal charges.

Friday morning, 60-year-old Dr. Dipak Desai, plead not guilty to 28 criminal counts in Las Vegas, NV.

He is expected to stand trial on March 14, 2011 in Clarke County District Court. The trial is expected to last 5 weeks.

Sixty-three-year-old Ronald Lakeman, a nurse-anesthetist, connected to the case was arrested in Columbus, GA earlier this week.

Dr. Desai ran an Endoscopy center in southern Nevada.  The doctor and two of his nurse anesthetists, Keith Mathahs and Lakeman, were indicted by a grand jury recently.

Lakeman, Dr. Desai, and Keith Mathahas face charges including reckless disregard for a person, criminal neglect for a patient, and obtaining money under false pretenses.

We are told Lakeman is expected to appear in court this Monday and has not yet been extradited back to Las Vegas.

Dr. Desai has been placed on house arrest until his expected trial date.
