COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A bizarre burglary occurred in Columbus where the thieves got away with a pricey and weighty item.

Police say they believe it could be the work of at least two people because the car engine weighs 500 lbs.

Although it's possible for a lone burglar to use a tow truck and a lift to pull off the heist, but they think it is highly unlikely.

The theft occurred at Benning Auto Parts on 17th Street around 1:00 a.m.  Wednesday.  The thief or thieves gained entry busting out the glass front door.

The owner has to incur the cost to repair the damage.  The car engine is worth $2100.
