PHENIX CITY, AL (WTVM) - He's called the "Father of Forensic Interviewing" and this week, Glenn Foster has been schooling local investigators on interviewing and interrogation techniques.
In a week-long course, Foster worked with more than 30 officers from the Phenix City Police Department, Russell County Sheriff's Office and state agencies.
After solving cases around the world, Foster was in Phenix City to advise local authorities on how to read human behavior, examine hand-written statements and determine whether or not a suspect is lying to them.
"I want to see these people put people who are guilty in jail. I want mutts off the street," Foster revealed.
"He is, in fact, a world class investigator and we're excited to have him and we've been able to utilize him while he's been here this week. We're committed in Phenix City to providing the best training for our officers and the Sheriff's Department," Phenix City Police Chief Ray Smith said.
During Foster's course in Phenix City this week, officials say they were able to uncover new evidence they believe will crack two local unsolved murder cases.
Chief Smith says his investigators are working on some background information on those cold cases and hopes to be releasing the new details as soon as possible.
