COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A late night home invasion leaves a young couple fearing for their lives, and police looking for the suspects.

Just after midnight a young couple living at a Hamilton Station apartment in north Columbus heard a knock at the front door. When the man went to open it, he tells police three black men, who were wearing all black clothing and covering their faces, forced their way into his home.

The suspects pointed pistols at the couple and threatened to kill them if they didn't hand over the keys to their car. One of the suspects then struck the male victim in the head with one of the guns and took the keys to his Ford Expedition.

Before leaving the home, the suspects also got away with a pair of $100 Nike Air Jordan tennis shoes and a $400 ipod.

Two of the black men got away in the stolen car, while the other one ran away. The suspects car is a blue 1998 Ford Expedition with a Marion County, Georgia license plate ARZ1151 and 26 inch rims.

The three suspects are facing several charges including: armed robbery, aggravated assault, burglary and theft by taking a motor vehicle.

If you know anything that might help solve this crime, or you see a blue Ford Expedition matching the description you are asked to call Columbus Police at (706)653-3400.
